Warhammer Club - National Semi Final
Even the incredibly early start was not enough to dampen the spirits of the Warhammer team, as we made our way from Sunbury to Nottingham to compete in the National Semi-Finals of the Warhammer School League. We faced teams from across the country, including Cardiff, Poole, Oxford, and Chester to name just a few! In total, over eighty students participated in the competition, representing twenty schools from all corners of the country. The competition was fierce, and the day long, and we fought until the end. Sadly, our efforts were not quite enough on the day, and we finished a very respectable tenth place. We were, however, just fifteen points away from qualifying for the National Finals. Literally, a couple of dice throws stood between us and the national stage.
The team worked incredibly hard this year to get themselves ready, and performed fantastically on the day. They were humble winners, and gallant losers, and they did the School proud. It was an honour to take them, and have them represent our School in a major tournament, and we can only hope that next year we will be back stronger and better than ever before. A massive thank you to Mr Worrell for giving up his day to drive us. I’d also like to say a massive thank you to Mr Haysom, for taking a day off work to help me make sense of what I was watching. One final thank you to the students and parents for their continued support and effort in running this fantastic club.
