Admissions Information

There will be 230 places available for allocation across Year 12 and 13. A minimum of 35 places will be available to external candidates, 25 of which will be allocated to those applying under the London Irish ACE Programme. We welcome and encourage applicants from other schools.

Academic requirements

The minimum entry requirement to study at The Bishop Wand Sixth Form is 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above. Please note that the specific entry requirements for many of our subjects is grade 5 or higher at GCSE and many courses require English and Maths at a good level too. Please refer to our course booklet (subject to change) for the entry requirements for each course.

Application Process for Bishop Wand students

There is no requirement for students who attend The Bishop Wand School to make an application for our Sixth Form. Students are automatically considered for a place through the 16+ Options process.

15th June 2021	16+ Options Evening – talks about the pathways open to students at age 16. Open to parents/carers and existing BW students and students from other schools.
2nd July 2021	16+ Taster Day – Open to existing BW students. A chance to try some of the courses on offer at our Sixth Form.
October 2021	Open Morning – Another chance to discuss your choices with teachers and students.
November/ December 2021	16+ Options Guidance Meetings for all Bishop Wand Year 11 students with their parent/carers (via Teams)
January 2022	All Bishop Wand students submit their Intentions Form. Bishop Wand Sixth Form interviews for all external applicants.
February 2022	Offer letters sent out
March 2022	Final option blocks published and students select their final subject combination.
July 2022	Induction Day
August 2022	GCSE Results Day and Sixth Form Enrolment

 

Application process for students applying from other schools

Please express your interest in our Sixth Form by using the form below. This will mean you will receive information about all events designed to help you make a decision about your 16+ options.  The application deadline for 2022 is December 2021. Applications received after this date will be considered but will not be given priority. We will then contact you to arrange a Sixth Form Interview. Students offered a place to study here will be invited to the Induction Day and will be expected to enrol on GCSE Results Day.
