Year 10 Citizenship trip to The Houses of Parliament
After a gap of four years due to the pandemic, the GCSE Citizenship Trip to The Houses of Parliament has finally returned.
An early morning walk from Waterloo to Westminster gave us the opportunity to pose for some photographs with the historic and iconic Palace of Westminster in the background.
Our Year 10 students did us proud by fully engaging in the tour.
The tour finished in Westminster Hall, where Queen Elizabeth ll lay in state for four days last September and where statesmen such as Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama have addressed Parliament and the Nation.
As well as being incredibly informative, the trip has helped the students put into context how laws and decisions in our representative democracy are made.
