A Level Results
Students at The Bishop Wand Sixth Form are celebrating success following the release of some excellent A Level examination results.
This year students have continued to perform above national benchmarks and have maintained the high standards set by previous cohorts, reflecting the commitment of students, staff and the support of parents.
Headteacher, Daniel Aldridge, welcomed the results and said:
"These are very pleasing results. This year group has worked extremely hard and these results allow them to take their first step towards future academic or career success. Credit should be given to all our students as well as the teaching and support staff who worked with the students over the course of the year. I wish all our students every success in the future".
Examples of our students who performed particularly well are:
• Ben Gray who achieved 3A and B in Physics, Maths, Chemistry and History and will Study Physics at Exeter.
• John Prater will be studying Maths at Warwick after achieving 2A* and an A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics.
• Alexandra James achieved an A* in Maths and A grades in Chemistry and Physics and will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Bath
• Emily Reeves continued the success in Maths and Science achieving A grades in Biology Chemistry and Maths and will be studying Bio Chemistry at Exeter.
As a comprehensive school, Bishop Wand takes pride in offering opportunity as widely as possible. As a result a number of our students, who might not have been allowed entry onto Advanced Level courses elsewhere, have gained commendable grades, thereby also giving them access to higher education or career placements.
We are equally proud of all our students who have worked extremely hard to obtain these amazing results.
