Admissions Information

There will be 230 places available for allocation across Year 12 and Year 13. We welcome and encourage applications from other schools.

Academic Requirements

The minimum entry requirement to study at Bishop Wand Sixth Form is 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above. Please note that the specific entry requirements for many of our subjects is grade 5 or higher at GCSE and many courses require English and Maths at a good level too. Please refer to our course booklet (subject to change) for the entry requirements for each course.

Application Process for Bishop Wand Students

Bishop Wand students will be invited by email and receive a link to complete their 16+ intention of interest in Bishop Wand Sixth Form, by completing the required sections on the admissions platform.

 Application Time Frame

June 2026	16+ Taster Day – Open to existing Bishop Wand students. A chance to try some of the courses on offer at our Sixth Form
October 2026	Sixth Form Open Evening – Another chance to discuss your choices with teachers and students.
September/December 2026	16+ Options Guidance Meetings for all Bishop Wand Year 11 students.
Friday, 18th December 2026	Application Deadline for non-ACE applications
January 2027	Bishop Wand Sixth Form interview evening for all external applicants (excluding ACE applicants). Students applying for a place at Bishop Wand Sixth Form alongside the ACE Rugby programme will be interviewed following the completion of the rugby trials.
February 2027	Conditional acceptance letters sent out
April/May 2027	Final option blocks published and students select their final subject combination.
August 2027	GCSE Results Day and Sixth Form Enrolment

Application process for students applying from other schools

Please express your interest in our Sixth Form by completing the application form below. This will mean you will receive information about all events designed to help you make a decision about your 16+ options. The application deadline for 2027 admission is Friday, 18th December 2026. Applications received after this date will be considered but will not be given priority. Students offered a place to study here will be invited to the Induction Day and will be expected to enrol on GCSE Results Day.
